About Me
I live in Great Lumley, County Durham. My eldest son lives in Canada – and I miss him A LOT! I am at my happiest spending time with my family and friends. In my spare time I watch my youngest son play rugby, walk the dogs, read and listen to music, find a good drama on Netflix – the simple things in life – and I love the beauty of nature and animals.
As a person, I am soft-natured, honest, gentle and empathetic. I believe that my own experiences of loss adds to my sensitivity and awareness of other people’s pain and I am completely committed to providing a measure of comfort in the saddest of times. My ceremonies are heartfelt and heart-led and because I consider it to be a genuine privilege to be present at such significant moments in peoples’ lives. I speak with warmth and passion because I love what I do.
I actually first considered training to be a Funeral Celebrant following my own mum’s funeral; I wrote the service myself and delivered a large chunk of it and I remember wanting it to be perfect for my beautiful mum – she deserved perfection, as does everyone.
I have passed the highest possible national qualification in Funeral Celebrancy in the UK – Level 3 Diploma – and have been rigorously assessed for my skill to create and deliver an appropriate and unique funeral ceremony.
